Newcastle Poker Festival….Live

very quick update from the virgin poker fest in newcastle
basically its everything you’d exepect it to be…poker..drink..some debauchary….poker
day 2 is underway – sadly without me
i had a good day one. it was good to get back into the tournament swing and play a deep stacked event. i had an early double up and was able to chip away, steal some pots and build a stack.
sadly the tourny then got to the shove stage and things didnt go my way. i ended up as the day 2 bubble boy when i decided it might be fun to try and double up rather than coming back tomorrow short stacked… sadly my jack 5 offsuit had other ideas and didnt manage to take me home…disappointing
anyway off to watch the final table now and have a beverage – hair of the chaffinch and all that

Hi Nick,
Just like to say it was great playing on the same table as yourself on Saturday. I wish you had shoved one hand earlier when I was sitting with AK, I would have enjoyed the Aston Martin experience that was on your head. Unfortunately I went out 23rd (3 off the cash) when I tried to guarantee myself a cash place with AK after hitting the ace on the flop only to be done by quad 4’s (ouch) but that’s poker and it was a great weekend. have to agree great festival at Newcastle, poker for the people!!
dont get to play live very often and enjoyed the experiance throughly.
some good poker and some great players so happy making final table after hitting my goal of making the cash
10s allin against kings and hitting trips helped so sorry bout that one whoever!!
as for the aces it was borderline if i should fold as I wasnt sure my raise had his allin covered lol!!!!(had already called so that is copyrighted!!!)
