Greetings!

Hello all and welcome to my On The Rail blog Nick and I get to travel to a lot of interesting places around the world to record the podcast and I’ll try to bring you funny stories of our antics in this space. Thanks very much for reading and listening to the podcast and please feel free to leave comments. 

It’s kind of crazy to be sitting here looking at the shiny new website for On The Rail. Nice work fellas, by the way! Thinking back to two years ago when Nick and I were just mucking about in his lounge giggling at own jokes and generally being children with microphones to where we are now, it’s fairly surprising!  We’ve been able to interview some brilliant poker players both live and online from the UK and the rest of the world. We’ve been ‘officially accredited’ media at events like the World Series of Poker and we’ve made about 7,384 Phil Helmuth jokes (only a fraction of these actually make it into the final edit unfortunately). We even managed to interview Daniel Negreanu himself as one of our first ever guests, live from the Rio in Las Vegas during the World Series 2007. That was entirely down to the lovely Matt “Mattilicious” Broughton who basically kidnapped Daniel for us and brought him to visit us in a little room where we stuck him in front of a small microphone balanced on a cardboard box and badgered him with questions.

In other words, it’s been a hell of a couple years and I can’t wait to see where On The Rail takes us. Wherever that happens to be, at least it’ll be among friends and hopefully some of it at least will be funny for you!
